Yoke Versus Joystick on Airliners

After what has been happening with Airbus joystick controlled planes, it is clear that the pilot cannot see what the other co pilot is doing to his own joystick.

It is now clear that it was co pilot Bonin who disobeyed orders and crashed the plane.

It is clear they were confused as to what was happening. I now believe the argument that Boeing is having with Airbus.

Boeing says their old fashioned steering wheels called a yoke and or shaker stick is safer. Airbus said it's Joystick was safer.

At least in a Boeing airliner, the pilot can see if the copilot is doing something to stall the plane.

Both pilot and copilot were clearly not on the same page. The Captain told the copilot to disengage from using the joystick but the idiot was insubordinate and he flew the plane into the ocean.

There was no failure of the computers. All things worked except that because of the positioning of the joysticks on Airbus airliners does not appear to allow the pilot to watch the copilot using the joystick.

So, now in my opinion, Boeing has won the argument that their steering yoke is superior to the joystick which has always been inferior.

I am surprised they even use joysticks. They should be using controllers like modern video games. It should be like the controller in the MIB super car.

All buttons, no joystick to break or come apart during use.

Due to what happened to Air France 447, I will not ever fly on any airliner that uses joysticks to steer the airplane.

That means if Embraer is using joysticks, then I wont fly on the plane because the pilot cannot see the co pilot is being uncooperative.

There is no special training that will prevent the copilot from being insubordinate and disobeying the pilot. There is no device that can override the mistakes made by pilot and co pilot.

Airbus might improve their design by putting both joysticks where the steering wheel or yoke should be.


It is clear from the ****pit voice recorder and black boxes that the Pilot could not see or stop the copilot, due to the positioning of the joystick.

Boeing wins the argument in my opinion. Yokes are safer.

I cannot imagine an F-16 pilot sitting at 60 degrees in a bubble canopy holding onto a yoke at 7+ G forces.

As for those who dare to fly and die in Airbus planes, the yoke is on you!
