| Well... it's been completely screwed up in 2 movies already. Let's see what Tom's boys can do with it. |

In the Green Hornet, it beat the drones.
What other movie are you referencing (I hope you are not thinking about Lethal Weapon)? |

I think you mean Green Lantern. |

My Movie Memory is failing me lately (I was thinking of Die Hard when I typed Lethal Weapon).
Die Hard "hardly" counts due to it being used in a way that it cannot (pardon the pun) |

| All fine and well, but in Iron Man 3 Tony Stark will ride F-35 like a cow in heat. Maverick can't do that although they might put SEALs in the bays one can hope and then it'd be Maverick versus handsomest SEAL to win affection of the beautiful F-35 test pilot. And cool cars and motorcycles. Lots of those. I should write this down ;>) |

Yes, it beat the drones after stalling the compressors at high altitude IIRC.
F-35 is such an improvement over that hunk of junk jalopy known as the F-14 w/ Sparrow missiles. At least now you have multi-shot ability with a missile that weighs less than 1000 lbs coupled with more clearance for BVR engagements thanks to more and better detection and ID equipment. I've read other news posts from people stating that the movie will be about the F-35 being on the ground most of the time with Tom Cruise staring at it in disgust due to it "not working." Gee, why don't those morons try doing some research into exactly what goes into making something that can do the jobs of most of our fighter fleet BETTER than said fighter fleet and then get back and try to say that it is an easy task to make something like that and have it work right immediately.
Here's an example:http://gizmodo.com/5889737/top-gun-2-is-real-and-stars-a-plane-that-doesnt-fly |

At least with the F-35, we will not have to suffer through "I can't get tone, I can't get tone", over and over again. |

@SpudmanWP:
It was speculation but I wouldn't be surprised to see LockMart pay for the product placement. It just makes sense. At least we won't have to witness Goose staring at blobs on an oscilloscope. |

Wow - how ironic is this?
"While preparing for the F-35 maiden flight on Dec. 15, he (Jon Beesley) was speaking with reporters. One kept telling him, "You just don't look like Tom Cruise," referring to the Hollywood actor's portrayal of a pilot.
Finally, President Beesley turned and said: "I don't pretend to be Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise pretends to be me."
