I'm on dialup (shaped) speed for a week because I search the interbabble so much but SNAFU has this link to a video that is pertinent (which I cannot see - see above) so I hope it is only F-35B PRON!
First Production Model F-35B Delivered to the Marine Corps

"Uploaded by LockheedMartinVideos on Jan 11, 2012
The first two Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] production model F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft were delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps. BF-6, the first F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) production jet delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps, arrives at its new assignment with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing's Marine Fighter/Attack Training Squadron 501 at Eglin AFB, Fla. The 5th Generation fighter jet, piloted by U.S. Marine Corps pilot Maj. Joseph Bachmann, touched down on Florida's Emerald Coast at 3:13 p.m. CST after a 90-minute ferry flight. It was followed by BF-8 which landed at 4:39 p.m. CST piloted by U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Matt Taylor. BF-6 and BF-8 are the first F-35s delivered to the base in 2012 and the seventh and eighth F-35 now stationed there. The aircraft will be used for pilot and maintainer training at the base's new F-35 Integrated Training Center."

| Question? How often does a F-35 roll of the production line? Just a quick calculation gave me 365/30=12.16 days. But does the F-35 factory run 365? |

| Hmmm, no VL - are BF-6/BF-8 aircraft limited to conventional landings at the moment? Those stabilators are really working.... |

| Why spend more fuel and airframe stress for a landing you don't have to make? |

Salute!
Great news, and I wish I knew they were inbound so as to get a peek.
Will get with our tour dude to get some of the Jarheads there for us to meet with.
Anybody who wants in on the tour next Friday, the 20th, then drop me a PM, as security is tight.
Gums sends.... |

It's the Marine Corps - they like a parade
But the question remains - are these aircraft cleared for VL's? |

Seems like it's not the BF-06 turn to get VL qualifications.
On Jan 05th the BF-05 passed this test, so 06 is next.. |

See Fang's comment above - he actually answered the question. |

Not sure what the current rate is, but these deliveries were made just in time to make room on the Flightline for jets coming off Final Assy. Some have been doubled up in the Run Stations. The factory runs 24/7 ~360; last year we were closed for 4th of July, the weekend at Christmas and the weekend at New Year's. |
