<a href="f-16_pilots_num2184.html">Grp.Capt. Srit 'Lukus' Vuteerapon</a> became the first pilot the Royal Thai Air Force to surpass 3,000 hours of flying time in the F-16. He reached this milestone on 28 July 2011 during a surface attack tactics training mission from Takhli Air Base, where he is the deputy base commander.

Vuteerapon graduated from the RTAF Flying Training School in March of 1991, and began flying F-5A/B/E aircraft. He transitioned to the F-16 in 1993 as a member of Squadron 103 at Wing 1 at Korat Air Base. He moved to Squadron 403 of Wing 4 at Takhli in 1995.

Col. Peter Tankink, returns to Volkel Airbase in F-16AM #J-011 after flying a mission in which he passed 3000 flying hours in an F-16 on January 24th, 2012. Tankink became the 8th Dutch F-16 pilot to achieve this landmark.

Maj. Saxon Yandell, 69th FS Assistant Director of Operations, reached his 3,000th F-16 flying hour on March 15th, 2012. Yandell has been flying for over 15 years.

Maj. Frank Bricel, 69th FS assistant director of operations, prepares to exit his aircraft on August 31st, 2012 after crossing his 3,000 flying hour mark in an F-16 at Luke AFB. Bricel has been flying for 18 years.

To put it in better perspective, 3000 flying hours equals 125 consecutive 24-hr days while 5000 flying hours equals 208 consective 24-hr days.

When pilots fly patrols (CAS/CAP) they can go for 9-10 hour missions, and they do this a couple of times a week. Pilot flying hours goes up fast. During the Libyan conflict, at least one EA-18 crew stayed up over 12 hours.

With the recent concerns over North Korea lately, the F-16s are probably flying patrols in the area. This would explain why a Colonel joins the 3000 hour club.
