| Alright everybody, my dad is trying to tell me that they are shutting down the f 35 joint strike fighter program and replacing it with something else. the only thing i have been able to find online so far is that second engine to be built by a separate company was shutdown. can anybody help me out here and give me some details of what is really going on? much appreciated |

Nope. Your dad is apparently reading an article (or a newspaper) that will be published about 8-months from now. As of today, the F-35 has not been canceled.
If you would, ask your dad to what the article says about the replacement. Everybody wants to know.

The F-35 will not be cancelled, especially considering it just scored it's first <a href="http://www.f-16.net/news_article4489.html">FMS deal</a>. |

He's probably thinking of the F-22. That production line has ended and replaced by the F-35.

They can't shut down the F-35 program because they USA can't afford to wait another 12 years for the next replacement fighter. So they will to continue development of the F-35 irregardless of what the media and Chad the local internet troll says. |

It may not be a 'Proper' word, but is used by some of us Yanks.

The word "irregardless" was specifically invented to upset English majors which is why it should be used as often as possible just for effect.
