I was just wondering if the JF-17 can outdo a HAl LCA. Well looking at all the stuff on net it seems like LCA is better, Faster and better Armament. I also felt like the JF-17 has the airframe of a Mig-21 with a few modifications. While the LCA is somewhat indigenous. Has a General Dynamics Engine.

But then the LCA is still undergoing testing!

The JJ-9 resembles the MiG-21, but the JF-17 is nothing like a MiG-21. Nor does it resemble China's version of the MiG-21, the J-7.

Seriously, why do these indeginously developed Asian fighters look like the illegitimate offspring of western designs and Migs?!? Wink

The JF-17, though looks like the love child of a Viper and an F-5! I have my doubts that either design will do anything spectacular or beyond the abilities of western aircraft let alone how they compare with one another. Good for them, though, they've figured out how to build their own airplanes.

I think this comparison is similar to the F-16 vs Mirage 2000 sales competitions from the past decades. Very similar capabilities, but different planforms.
