| Well, with the F-16 you'll get the chance to live in sunny Alamogordo, New Mexico! And who wouldn't want that? |

| Disco, Im just saying, it is a waste of our money....i have seen both. I don't need a high res map because on overwatch you are staring at the pod. Good mission plannning will prep you. Many a block 40/50 squadron has been to OEF/OIF and never needed that. Lets save the money for SDB's and an AESA. IMHO. |

Future of the Viper wish list by priority:
- AESA radar
- HMCS NVG fusion
- SDB capability
- Bigger MFD(s)
- Jam proof Link16
- Bigger ADI AND HSI with flight director
You might be surprised NOT to see moving map or an Integrator for that matter on the list. And yes, I want better instruments with a flight director system. Hmmm, a center MFD with electronic ADI might just do the trick.

I chatted a little bit with an CA ANG LTC about the map thing and he missed it when he left the Mariens flying Hornets to fly Vipers for the Guard. I figured there was a need. Honestly, I'd say it'd be better to have SDBs and AESA at the moment. All I know from personal experience is from being with Apaches for so long. Pilots really did like the color moving map displays with various overlays. It serves a big purpose according to them. They definitely let me know the second it didn't work. LOL! |

Just guessing, but I bet it would have more value to a helicopter pilot (moving at slower overall speeds) than an F-16 pilot.
Best Regards, |

| Moving map is certainly a MacD/Boeing feature (hornets and strike eagles). I guess you miss it if you had it, I just don't see a need. |
