Hi guys,

Interesting loadout being carried by SW birds out of Aviano in support of Libya ops...

1. Aim-120C
2. Aim-9M
3. GBU-32 x2
4. External Fuel
Shoulder. Sniper
5. ECM
Shoulder. HARM Pod
6. External Fuel
7. AGM-88
8. Aim-9M
9. Aim-120C

Has anyone come across this loadout before?

First thing you should check is the current 1-2 for your model aircraft. There are ones close to it in C book (I haven't looked in the CG, CJ or CM book). If there is no current GP/Store line in the 1-2, there must be a Seek Eagle or Quick Reaction configuration authority. If your QA folks are doing their job correctly-there is one available before they build the DD Form 365-4 Form F. If there is no authority other than the pilot 'say so'...then your QA isn't worth their weight in salt.

Are you sure that shouldn't be 2xGBU-38 and not GBU-32? If I recall correctly, GBU-32 is 1000lbs, while the GBU-38 is 500lbs

Anyway, the loadout is not a surprice, as it allows maximum flexibility for the Block 50 fleet, flying both SEAD/DEAD and CAS mission in one.

Could be 38s, looked a little big on the pylon to me though.

Actually they are GBU-54s (the LJDAM version of the GBU-38 ). The white seeker-cover is the giveaway.

Anyone seen the pictures of the Aviano birds with what appears to be white mk.20's? Found a couple om the aircraft resource center under the research center vipers thread. Im thinking possibly leaflets? Again it appears to be a white MK.2- with both a yellow and blue stripe. I know its a Lybia loadout because the 120's and 9's carried are live.

That would be the PDU-5/B Leaflet bomb.

Actually, those are GBU-38s with DSU-33's. We had the config expeditiously Seek Eagled just for Libya.

Good catch, I thought it was funny that they were using white housings instead of the original black ones on the (DSU-38 ).

Interesting to me that the photo shows -9Ms and not 9Xs loaded considering the Xs have demonstrated at least at limited surface attack capability and the small warhead might be ideal for some of the targets hiding out in the cities...

9X cannot attack surface target - there have however been testing of software that will allow this. But nothing in prodtion yet.
