I agree. I've thought about building a -22 model but I would have no idea how to paint it. From some angles, it looks like a matte gray finish while from others the exact same part and aircraft looks like shiny metal.

we have a few of the block 50's painted with the stuff. The crew dogs hate it. I must say it does look like crap after a few months. Very ruff to the touch like a bad metal flake job. Up close it looks like a clear base with heavy metal flakes added. The undercoat is the same 36270 and 36118. After awhile the fin flash is almost invisible or should I say in stealth mode. All the marking seem to be go south as it ages. And you can never keep it clean.
All under wing suspension are painted with 36270 or for touch up a mix of what ever happens to be around at the time in spray cans.
I haven't seen the 36375 used after the A/B jets left town.
I talked about this in the model forum sometime ago. I just haven't had a chance to try duplicating it yet.
My thought was to buy a fine metal flake powder from an automotive paint supply and mix that with some Tamiya clear, or equivalent. Then apply a few coats and see how it looks.

Only a few of the jets at Shaw have this coating, not all as your statement implies. There are no plans that I know of to include any addtional repaint in the near future.

I think the real trick will be in the air pressure, to much and the flakes will stand on end, to little and they will lay flat and be to shinny. They have to lay down almost at a 45 angle to get the effect like on the real thing.
I do have an old 22 I might try out when I have time. When I do I'll post in the model forum.

I wonder if a light spray of Alclad II would do the trick?

are the Have Glass I/II only for USAF Vipers or for FMS too?

Have Glass I/II is what the program is called but the paint included in the Have Glass I/II program is called PACER GEM I/II. Very few jets actually carry the PACER GEM II because the costs were too high and the cure times were much longer. The paint looks great first coming out of the paint barn but does become metallic and very dirty looking in a short period of time.

As far as I know ..... some NATO members also have it. Greece for example. I may be wrong though .....

there is an "A" model the italians are about to put on a stick that has it
