There is a small intake protruding from under the left wing on the 16. Curious what this intake does.

Also is that the Flight Control Accumulator located on the bottom of the left wing near the intake?

There is an overboard vent opening for the fuel system under the left wing. Flight control accumulators are at the base of the vertical tail. Not sure what item you are referring to near the "intake".

Larry, he may be talking about the gun gas purge door. Not on the wing, but nearby.

Thanks for the information, guys. The small intake I spoke about is approx. 1"wide, and is located aft of the LE Flaps on the left wing.

Is the intake you are referring to the small dark circle visible between the external fuel tank and the weapon pylon in the picture at http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wjLSOEl0BZk/St8O266WxGI/AAAAAAAAFhw/UrOB-j5Vzb8/s1600-h/1807621726_b0a674de20_o.jpg? If that's it, I still think that is the fuel system vent tank outlet. If certain failures occur, fuel can vent overboard from that outlet.
