Is this a serious threat or just another fantasy?

Nothing new there, though I suspect that the US has allowed anti-EMP shielding to lapse since the early 1990s, even as it has become more electronically dependent. It should also be noted that the Chinese are advanced enough to also vulnerable to this weapon (an efficient way to disable large numbers of missile boats).

I guess that it is a real fact... we will see updates for sure in the near future.
