Collin County (July 5, 2011) – Captain Scott O’Grady, who captured the imagination of the nation in 1995 when his F-16 was shot down and he evaded capture by Bosnian Serbs for six days before being rescued by U.S. Marines, today announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for District 33 in the Texas House.

I look at Cunningham sort of like Pete Rose. I respect what he did in his first career, but it was his second career that disgraced him. Now, that's not to say that had Cunningham never run for office, the Navy would be naming any ships after him, but he would have been much more respected. Ace with 5 kills, Navy Cross, CO of TOPGUN, etc. It'll be interesting to hear from him in 2013 when he's finally out of the slammer. I'm thinking that there will be a book, or tv interviews out the ying yang.
