When will the F-16 start carrying the SDB? F-15E has had them for what six years? Id think the both the B-1B and the F-16 would be at least flying OT&E by now...

I think they've flown in OT&E. I've seen pix with them loaded on Eglin birds but we have to wait for M6.1 with UAI, I think (2013) - but who knows, if it's important enough they could make it happen faster.

For the Blk 25/30/32 you will see SDB phase I with SCU-8 software in 2012 and for Phase II somewhere out in 2014 with SCU-9.
For the Blk 40/50's its with M6.1+ with Phase I in 2012.
Cheers,

Would the BRU-57 be able to carry a pair of the BRU-61s? Nice little bomb truck if you could load a total 16 SDBs.

The Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center in Tucson dropped SDBs off the Block 30/32 last month at Edwards. OT&E continues throughout the summer with more drops planned.

Guess we'll see them on the Block 40/50's soon then, given that there are hardly any Block 25/30/32's left

Last week the first Belgian M6.1 MLU bird has started it's test phase. So full deployment of that package is foreseen for late 2012. Apart from the fact that the Belgians most probably won't buy any SDB's, but just as an example that the European MLU birds will have the possibility from late 2012.

It's better than you think.
F-16 Blk 40/50 M6.x gives the Falcon UAI (CV01 build, see second graph). IIRC, this is how it's getting SDB, not through traditional integration (the dates line up anyhow). This includes EPAF (European Participating Air Forces) F-16 aircraft.
