This system is not that great, as you should consider economics and upkeep as well. The F-22 and F-35 will score high on this list, but will be marked down for their high costs.
This is probably biased as hell, so I don't expect anyone to take these figures seriously.
**F-22**
OVERALL
OVERALL PERFORMANCE: 10
SPEED: 10
CLIMB RATE: 10
OVERALL VERSATILITY: 8
RANGE: 6
DURABILITY: 2
OVERALL WEAPONS: 9
AIR TO AIR: 10
AIR TO GROUND: 7
RADAR: 10
This is pretty obvious as an overly favorable set of numbers. Range is not great, but made up for with a good ferry radius. Durability is likely not going to be like that of older fighters, as it's a naturally unstable design. Air to ground is rated well for reason that it's at least as capable of delivering a guided warload as an F-35B. And it can bring the same number of SDB's as well. Great strategic bomber, but an expensive and limited bomb truck.
**F-35**

While its overall performance is probably pretty decent at climbs and low speeds, the lack of supercruise and an unremarkable top speed really pales in comparison to what I'd expect from a generation five fighter. Versatility scores high with good range and same durability score of the raptor. Air to air gets marked down for a limit of four AIM-120's and no provisions for AIM-9's internally. Air to ground is naturally high. Radar is a notch down from the raptor as well.
**F-16**
OVERALL
OVERALL PERFORMANCE: 8

OVERALL VERSATILITY: 8
RANGE: 4/7 with CFT's
DURABILITY: 3
OVERALL WEAPONS: 6

AIR TO GROUND: 8

Not the greatest numbers, but still a very capable fighter for its price and upkeep. The most significant limitation comes from its poor internal fuel load, which can be eased by the use of CFT's.

Although stealth isn't taken into consideration here, the performance and versatility of this bird is still very impressive. Its ability to haul a massive warload and escape makes one of these easily worth two or three F-16's. Stealth would receive a terrible rating if it were a category. |

I'm that mean to adopt battleshipagincourt's format and adjust numbers.
**F-22**

I rate versatility rather low right now as the F-22 is largely focussed on AA. While it performs certainly well in the few AG roles it's expected to conduct, the avionics aren't optimised for AG and the weapon options are rather limited, limiting the kind of missions the aircraft is able to perform. Wrt AA weapons the aircraft still lacks a HOBS capable SRAAM and integration of the AIM-120D has been postponed as well, the Raptor isn't that reliant on those as the teens, but still worth in substraction of points in these areas.
**F-35**

OVERALL PERFORMANCE: 8

It's possibly a bit unfair to compare the F-35 to aircraft as they are in service now, nonetheless the F-35 will likely be a very versatile platform thanks to a broad range of ammunitions which will be integrated over time and due its flexible avionics/sensor suite. Performance will be good, particularly in combat configuration.
**F-16**
OVERALL
OVERALL PERFORMANCE: 7

The F-16 is an extremely flexible weapons system. There is no other fighter in the world with so many cleared stores like the F-16 and the aircraft can subsequently perform a wide range of missions. It also uses the latest AA and AG weaponary, substractions come from payload limitations. I consider the overall performance as good, but the F-16 isn't the best performer in any area, especially not in certain combat configurations where the 5th gens will prevail.
**F-18**

OVERALL PERFORMANCE: 6

OVERALL VERSATILITY: 10
RANGE: 6

OVERALL WEAPONS: 10

AIR TO GROUND: 10
RADAR: 8
Similar to the F-16 wrt versatility, but with slightly better practical payload capabilities and better radar and possibly avionics. Less well performing, apart low speed and high AoA handling and manoeuvring characteristics.
**F-15E strike Eagle**
OVERALL
OVERALL PERFORMANCE: 9
SPEED: 9
CLIMB RATE: 9
OVERALL VERSATILITY: 8
RANGE: 9

The F-15 is a good performer with long range and a powerful radar. It's payload capacity is unmatched by any of the other contenders and it can carry a large number of the latest AAMs and AG weapons. |
