...and Weasel Keeper...not many SAM threats lately? I applaud the bravado, but do yourself a favor and google SA-10, 12, 20, 21, 22, etc.
Not sure if you got the part of this thread that it was a question by reading the link.
What I was trying to say, yes with some sarcasm, was just because we don't currently have much of a SAM threat at all in current theaters...we should not drop the SEAD/DEAD mission of the Weasels.
Relating the lack of SAM threats in current AORs to F-4s in Vietnam where they thought there would never be any more close in dogfights that required guns...only to get our butts handed to us when the A2A missles were ineffective and we added gun pods and then mods (F-4E) and turned the air war around.
