Happy new year, to all! Smile

Does any one hear of a new way to detect an a/c that fly supersonic by detecting the compress air push by an a/c?

We do know that RF waves bounce on different layers of air ...

Any theory? Any practical results?

It's an interesting theory, but the computing power for what you're suggesting would be tremendous!Confused I'm not saying it's not theoretically possible - just that we have a way to go yet before this becomes practical in any way. My Two Cents

What wavelengths are used and do they allow detection or targeting?

No way , Because RF cannot lock on even itself during a doggie fight which begins between 2 raptors !

Hmm, I actually talked w a guy who is a technician onboard the new Danish frigates. We talked about the smart-L radar and I asked him how to detect stealthy airplanes. He actually mentioned this as a technique used...if it was in service I dont know...but he mentioned it!

I have always been intrigued by the computational limits of these aircraft. For under $1,000 you can build a computer that can perform complex calculations and renderings. What kind of operations are these hardware units tasked to complete?
