| I was wondering about that. When I cross reference the 44th OG reg# here in Kadena, it came from Elmendorf. Learned something new. Thanks. |

Hmmm, interesting.
The Vipers would probably be transfered to the 51FW, who would then transfer their block 40's to the mainland US.
The move of the F-15's isn't that surpricing due to the local resistance at Okinawa to the USAF presence. Not sure, but I believe that at Misawa they are more friendly towards US forces that the Okinawians. |

Osan is suppose to receive Block 50s most likely from the drawdown of one squadron from Spangdelham. So most likely the 8FW could receive the Block 50s. Logistically with the retiring of the F-15C on the horizon I just dont see an F-15 footprint being put at Misawa. I can actually see them withdraw all F-16s ... the base will go back to pre 1986 with no jets. Too bad though as Misawa and northern Japanese had a better relationship then at Kadena. Of course they can also push Misawa to get the F-35s and have no fighters at all at Kadena. |

| Everything that I see and hear regarding the friction between locals and U.S. Forces in Okinawa center around the USMC. Particularly MCAS Futenma, which the Japanese government is trying to have relocated. |

Mech,
Although Kadena seems like an after thought since USAF is outnumbered by Marines... I was there for numerous "HANDS AROUND KADENA" events where they try and get thousands of people to form a human ring around the perimeter and you'll see protesters outside the gates. Is the TA ramp still located on the pad north of the tower? |

| Although I really hate to get involved in the rumors and propaganda conversations, I will say that I read an article in the Stripes the other day, which outlined the relocation of some USMC facilities in Japan to Guam, where apparently, they are more welcome. |

It ain't like we were invited to Okinawa though, huh?
Next time, probably ought not pick a fight with us so you can kill a bazillion Chinese.
