Forum: Scale Models - F-16, F-35, F/A-22, F-2

I have a Academy 1/48, F-16 A/C kit that I want to build with the markings from Nellis AFB at the time's I was there (1978-1982). They would have the NA on the tail. 428th, 429th or 439th squadrons.
I've searched these forums but found nothing, I did find a set that is now out of production on another decal site.

I did see some ideas to look at ebay and will try that, just wanted to see if anyone knew of any here.

Well it's the only one I have, and as for scraps, none laying around. I did find the pic on this site.

I maybe able to piece together something from a few different decal sets, just getting the squadron one on the top of the tail will be a challenge.

Correction: I said the 439th in earlier post when in fact it was the 430th.

Hmmm...I don't recall any sheet that has that on it. What was the band on the tail like? It looks black with an emblem in the center. Do you remember what it was?

It had one depending on the squadron one of the three listed at the bottom of this page. Black, Yellow band and I believe a Red for the last one.

Also there is a 57th wing one just inboard from the intake, but I think I can find that one.

BTW, thanks for the help. I'll go by a hobby shop that's close by and look at their book on decals again, maybe I over looked something.

Oooh yeah, that's an old sheet. Bets bet is to search though old stacks. The band isn't that difficult to do though, you could just paint that on, and use an emblem on top of it. The tailcodes can be made from the TwoBobs or Afterburner data sheet. Also, I'd dump that Academy kit and get a Tamiya. If you don't want to make the tail conversion, a Hasegawa kit would be better.

The hobby shop I go to has some sheets in a book, I'll look through those. I wish I did have the Tamiya kit but this was a gift from the wife, so I have to make do with what I have. If ya know what I mean.
