Hello people, just thinking that I should share with you this project all from the very beginning, I got the hold of some old Hasegawa vipers earlier this year,building two, that is shown in the "showmodels" room. Then I stumbled across a review of the new Kinetic Nato Viper model and decided I had to get one. I contacted the airforce museum in Bodø and asked if they would like to have a 1/48 model of the norwegian viper, sending with some pictures of my earlier builds. They were very interested so I started planning what I hope will be my best build ever! I started browsing the web for a picture of a norwegian viper in afganistan. I found one that I really did like, it was of viper #677 that used to be from 331 squadron, I have always liked the squadron "badge" of these guys, so I decided to go for it! I ordered decals from Vingtor, a resin seat and also brass pitot-tube and sensors. I then called the Airbase in Bodø and asked if I could come and take some pictures of the plane and possibly the sniper-pod (or PANTERA as we call it in Norway) The female technical chief of the 132. Air-wing was all helpful, and I got invited to come and see and touch and photograph as much as I would like! I will do this on the 1.December and OH_BOy I look forward to do this!

When I found the picture of viper #677 my old computer was beeing repaired, so I did not have access to any of my old pictures, in 2007 the Airbase in Bodø had a special anniversary and had an "open day" where one could see a lot of their equipment, they even had an F-16 lined up, where one could climb up and see and photograph the cockpit and ask a pilot questions. I took of course many pictures and was very happy. when my computer came home I was very curious about what number the plane I photographed that day had. Imagine my jaw falling to the floor when I saw that it was indeed #677!! Shocked

This build is meant to be! Unfortunately I did not know at the time that I would be building it, so I did not get all the details that would be nice for the build, but now that I am invited back to the Airbase that will be corrected....

The Kinetic NATO Viper has all you need and a lot of extras. I've got one waiting to be built too. Get all the pictures you can, reference photos of the actual jet you're modelling are a great asset.

I was at the local air base on december 1.st got 90 photos, but unfortunately #677 is now on Ørlandet. First I will build a Hasegawa RNoAF, #273, And i will post pictures of this one too!

This kit is now on the waiting-line, I will first build two hasegawas to try out some modeling tricks I have found here, so that everything will be good when i tackle this one!

OOOKay....Beeing late I did not start the building of this aircraft during christmas, but today I will start priming it. Tomorrow it will be dry and after taking care of housholding business, I will maybe glue the first parts together!

Got started yesterday! Built the intake. I really wanted to get a cover for the intake, but since I've never done it before, I built everything "right" in case ther would be no cover... Smile

But everything went very well! Here it is then, I will probably spill grey paint on the red later, but i HAD to se how it would look.... Embarassed

Eh, not the method I would recommend. The paint will most likely flake off that.

Thanx for the support Habu, Maybe there is methods that does work even if you have not invented them? I am going to be reaally childish now and just log off. By the way, the paint sticks like glue........
