Hi Scott

Checked my saved photos, and this type of demarcation line on the back of the Viper I have earliest noted on photos from mid-1997. Apparently, it lived on untill late 2002 when most if not all where painted in the "normal" scheme.
86-0309 was transfered to 186FS 120FW in 2001, still carrying the same scheme. My suggestion is that the time period is from 1997-2001 sometime, most likely 97-99 timeframe.

Hi Scott and Niels,

It is actually a bit later. The guy(s) checking out the aircraft are MT ANG people during the preps for the actual transfer flight from Kunsan to Great Falls, MT - so it is from Dec. 2000.

This paint scheme - called the "Wolf Pack" scheme by me - was worn by 309 until early this year when she went to Ogden for Falcon STAR and a fresh layer of paint. She has just been returned to the VT ANG where she flies today and has yet to receive their squadron markings on the tail!!

Cheers,

Henrik.
