Without having to bother hunting down my UTM. I'm trying to find out how many sets of cdc's there are currently for avionics. I've completed the E set and F set and im about to test on F set. I hear that they just give you the D set last now but I'm unsure. I also heard there are 14 volumes total which makes me hate life lol.
sorry for the newb post, just something i've searched and googled w/o any hard answers. |

Why on earth would you ask anyone other than your training manager? Do you think you'll get a better answer here?
And by the way, CDCs are the easiest part of your job.

Agreed! CDC's aren't fun but at least it's simple Q and A. Rarely that easy on the aircraft while working 12 hour shifts.  |

| I remember doing my last CDC--and I knew it was my last one. What a relief! Of course I was a Msgt with 30+ yrs of service at the time. Bottom line: get used to them. If you make the military a career, you'll have them from start to finish. |

Figured it would be easier than trying to hunt him down and listening to his snotty attitude. I'm sure there are f-16 avionics guys that post on here. I never said CDC's were hard [Link pending approval] just wanted an answer on how many more I have to complete. |

When I took the F-16 CDCs, I had to take the 2A352A course (I think the CDC number was 45252A back then) in order to get my 5-level. I was retraining from 7-level A-7 INS/WCS and was automatically gonna be an A-shopper with the Viper. When I upgraded to the 7-level, I had to take the B- and C-shop CDCs. At the 7-level back then, all the shredouts were combined. To be quite honest with you, I have forgotten how many volumes each CDC was, but all were multiple-volumed and there was one EOC for each complete CDC.
When the Avionics AFSC was "riveted" (McPeak's infamous reorganization of AFSCs when we got the 2Axxx numbering), I was done with CDCs and since I was my squadron's Pro Super on military days (vice Avionics shop chief on civilian days), I dealt with only 7-levels and didn't have to worry about any CDCs other than PME for my folks. As a result, I can't tell you how many volumes you'll end up taking, but there will be several multiples of multiple volumes.

If you have completed the E and F sets then yes, your last set is D, which is 3 volumes.
The D/E/F sets have now been replaced with G/H, which have fewer volumes. But since you started with E, you have to finish the D/E/F ones instead. |

Back when it was still 326X7A/B/C I was at Eglin on the test side, for my 7-level, I had to do all 3, the A (F-111) B (F-15) & then the C (F-16), granted back then it was just "B-Shop" stuff...
Remember to keep your CDC's for reference, that was were the majority of the SKT portion of your grades came from when it was time to test for rank... I don't know if it's better now, but when I was in even if I "aced" my SKT the first time I tested for E-7 I wouldn't have made it because of low Time in Service / Grade numbers...
