Well, I overlook ALOT of what the tools in Hollywood do, but I kind of draw the line at pedophilia. As far as Sanford goes, along with Sen Ensign from NV, can't these people keep it zipped? I don't find it terribly hard to not cheat on my wife. Is it really that difficult? And Farrah......... Drool

I’m would be pretty sure that nobody on this humble forum is owed any of the $400 million worth of debt he left. Anyway those who are probably got their money’s worth out of the fantastic entertainment he provided in exchange for their high dollar tickets. What a talented “boy-man”, to quote McCartney.

Robin Olds left a huge, yet more modest amount of debt when he died. Those folks involved probably say: “I’d follow him anywhere, except to the bank.”

I guess responsibility is waived for some.

There may have been someone who died the same day who provided for their survivors and didn’t sleep with little boys. Probably not flamboyant and eccentric enough to ever know their name, and apparently not “smart” enough to know what they could have gotten away with.

It always makes me wonder why the most talented always seem to be the most eccentric, or screwed up somehow. It's the same thing I had wondered when Duke Cunningham got busted.

Oh well, I guess it's best to just remember Michael for the music, and not think about the mess he made of his life. He might've been pretty Effed up, but d@mn he rocked it on "Billie Jean" and "Smooth Criminal"!

Oh wow! Two classics in the same video clip. "Shake Your Body Down to the Ground" and the tv show "The Midnight Special". Great stuff! The Midnight Special was still on when I was a yoot, but I was too young to remember it. I have, however, been able to see the "Best of" reruns, and they were great. The Midnight Special was MTV before there was an MTV.

Oh definitely. I wish that the producer had just let the actual singers be a group from the very beginning. Those guys had talent. Their dredlocked "front men", however, did not.

That's when MTV started to go downhill for me. They started caring more about image than musical abilities. What looked good in a video was more important than the product. That and when MTV started caring more about "The Real World", and their other "reality" programming than the videos. Now, the primary MTV channel doesn't really even show videos anymore, and that's a shame.

That's another area where I have respect for MJ. He put everything into both the music AND the videos. As time went by, it became harder to look at him, but the music and stage performance never went away the way his looks had.

Yeah, I'm with TC on this one. When he died, the first thing that I thought about was his music, his dance moves, and how my parents used to play his songs over and over when I was growing up in the Philippines. My parents were huge fans, along with pretty much the entire country (and Asia as a whole). I still have his Thriller album on vinyl!! That one's going in the time capsule for sure.

In the end, I guess it's preference as to how you want to remember Michael because his life went through very extreme circumstances.

I choose to remember him as the musician, dancer, and entertainer who influenced and inspired me throughout my childhood, just as TC brought up Randy Cunningham as a comparison. I still regard him as a great fighter pilot, an ace, and an inspiration in my aviation interests...not as the scandalous politician he had become in his later life.

Such is the life of a superstar, I guess. You're great one day, then you make that wrong move and everyone hates you. No room for error when all eyes are on you.

I guess now, we have to add tv pitchman Billy Mays to the list. He died this morning. WTF is going on with celebs this week?

Yeah, I just found that out right now, too. They always say celebs die in 3's, but man, that's 4 already...5 if you count David Carradine who died earlier this month. Crazy...

Definitely a strange month … never personally liked the guy or his annoying commercials, but he is a fellow human being and very sad what happened.

It always annoys me the crap people take on as carry on baggage holding up the boarding procedures trying to stow the stuff. I think changes are coming!

Looks like Billy died from a heart attack. Possible stress from the Code 3 landing, and major surgery which was scheduled today combined to do it? Dunno. It always seemed from his commercials that maybe he should've chilled out a little bit too. The M.E. found no evidence of head trauma from the shot he took on the plane.

Thanks - (OFF TOPIC) Hey TC, my son in law just found out he is being awarded the Bronze Star (he leaves Iraq on 9 July 2009 too). Of course we are just glad to have him return safe and sound.
