Can we get some confirmation that #89-2029 was stateside between July 08 - Jan 09. Hill for maintenance??


USAF F-16C block 40 #89-2029 from the 510th FS is seen on approach to Aviano AB on June 18th, 2009. This jet was in the US between July 2008 to January 2009 for maintenance.

I suppose that with she there were also 89-2016, 89-2024, 89-2038, 89-2178, 90-0777.
89-2016: The new Boss Bird, previosly it was the 89-2001...

89-2024:

89-2038

89-2178

90-0777

Actually 89-2029 went with 89-2038 and 90-0777.

89-2016, 89-2024 and 89-2178 were there in a seperate time span. Those last three went home to Aviano via Pease AFB, NH in Feb. 09.

Thank's a lot Henrik!
Just a small correction, when they leave on 28.07.08 they were all together, but on the way back they split into two flight, the 89-2016, 89-2024, 89-2178, 90-0777 come together via Pease, Lajes (23/24 Jan) and finally Aviano (probably on 05.02.09). And the last two a little bit later...

Maybe they received the CCIP upgrade at Hill.

They did most of the upgrades in Greece, but some may have had to go to Ogden for depot-level repairs...

The exact picture is the following: all six departed Aviano on July 28th; 89-2016, 89-2038, 89-2178 and 90-0777 returned back on January 29th via Lajes, 89-2024 and 89-2029 returned back early February via Moron (arrived there on February 2nd).
