What happened Gamera, the links are all Japanese for me and the translator takes me to a newer refreshed page. What are the details of the mishap?
Thank you,
Jon |

Some photos from Andersen AFB's website added to the gallery of the F-2's arrival.
A JASDF F-2 (43-8529) lands on January 30th, 2009 to participate in the two-week Cope North exercise. The Japanese F-2 single-engine fighter has performance capabilities roughly comparable to those of the U.S. F-16.
JASDF F-2 fighters taxi after arriving at Andersen AFB on January 30th, 2009 for Cope North Exercise. This will be the tenth time the United States and Japan have held a Cope North exercise on Guam, and it will be the fourth time that the JASDF will use live ordonance.
A JASDF F-2A (43-8530) taxi's to join nine other F-2s which arrived on January 30th for the 2009 Cope North Exercise. The F-2s are from the 6th Squadron, Tsuiki AB, Japan. |

What happens to Lieutenant Generals when they make an OOPS during a landing?
Thank God it wasn't something majorly serious, although even minor damage can be pretty expensive with jets. |

Thanks for reporting, Gamera..
I'm just curious why Lt. Gen. M. Hiroaki is a 'former F-15 pilot'?
Respects to the Base Command, personnel and back seater, Maj. Mikio during his recovery. |
