as it appears in the files of the Servicing Office shown above. Your qualifications are subject to verification.

Special Messages
The information shown on this Notice supersedes all information you received in earlier Notices from this examining
office for this occupation.
Thank you for your interest, you were not selected. Please continue to apply for positions with the Indiana Air National
Guard.
In the beginning it says I may be contacted if further info is needed or an interview. Later at the end it says I was not selected.
So which is it?
Hold my breath or is that the end of this application? It's my first application to full time Guard so sorry for the trouble but I'd appreciate those with experience helping me out with the answer. Thx. |

Give their Human Resource Office a call and ask them. They may have a criteria of taking the five most qualified based on information submitted on individual job applications. I can tell you from personal experience, that I couldn't get an experienced crew chief to put in for a job for quite some time. Take a look at the Colorado Air National Guard. I know they had some new F-16 additions and also maintain an alert facility. They were hiring not to long ago.

As I recall in Virginia, if HRO says you're qualified for the job, you'll be notified by the hiring supervisor that you'll be scheduled for a job interview at a time mutually agreed upon. After the job interview HRO will send you a notice of selection or nonselection depending on how you did. This was the only mail correspondence one would get.
If you were not qualified, HRO would send you notice of same by mail and your name wouldn't come down for the interview. Of course they would always thank you for your participation.
I think chickenlegs gave you some good advice. Call HRO and find out for certain what your letter means.
For future reference, don't forget that you have to convince someone who doesn't know you from Adam that you're qualified to do a job that that same someone doesn't know a damn thing about, so it's all in how you sell yourself on your experience and KSAs. Good luck! |

Definately call HRO for an explanation. Here is a rundown of the normal process in Indiana at least as of a year ago.
With full time guard jobs you will come back as qualified or not qualified first. This is based off off your resume and how well you answered the KSA's. You will be deemed qualified or not by a person that in almost all cases works at state headquarters and knows little about the job you are applying for, hence the importance of making your resume line up with the required KSA's.
If you are deemed qualifed then you and the other qulified applicants will be sent to the selecting offical for consideration. The selecting offical can choose to select by interview or by package alone. However, everyone will be given the smae opportuity (e.g. interviews for all or none.)
Once the selecting offical makes a choice it goes back to state headquarters for approval. Then to the commander of the selecting offical.
It's a long process and very very few make it their first time. In my shop the average is about 5 submissions before we got hired. I know it's frustrating because of the hoops to jump thruogh and the slow pace of selections but stick with and it is worth it. Good Luck in the future. |

Five times?! Bleh. Well if it takes work, then work I'll do.
I had o ask because, as can be seen in the OP, They mention me being qualified and I may be contacted. At the bottom though, they say, "Thank you for your interest, you were not selected. Please continue to apply for positions with the Indiana Air National Guard.". So thats where my confusion comes in. It doesn't make such a clear yes or no answer. |

| I know that McEntire is hiring too. Just thought I would throw that out there. As far as your question, I can't answer it as I don't have a clue |

I agree with sixerviper. I have been on several hiring boards and that may be what happened. Don't hesitate to call HRO and ask. BTW the 162 FW in Tucson is always looking for qualified applicants. Check the wedsite http://www.azguard.gov/Jobs/Jobs.htm
