Thanks

| MakoWes, They are hiring left and right at Nellis. I don't know a POC but I think the whole mx complex is going contract. Plus Mtn Home has the Singapore AF there and they are also hiring contract to work their F-15s. |

| Most of the Flightline Avionics guys in the ANG are WG-13s. I believe that there are only a few units that chose to keep both supervisors (WS-11 and WS-12) instead of upgrading the techs to WG-13. I believe that is how that worked. If the unit upgraded the Air Techs to WG-13s they lost the WS-11 supervisor slot, which not every unit did. I think the guys in Vermont are still WG-12s because they chose to keep the WS-11. |

| At McEntire JNGB, we are WG-13's in Avionics, AIS, and Pod Shop. We did give up our WS-11, and upgraded our WS-12 to a 13. As for the other units that elected not to give up a supervisor position, they may eventually become WG-13s as well. With the introduciton of Active Associates at guard bases and the increased numbers making a second shift a neccessity, I think many units are seeing that there is a great need for that second supervisor position and we are starting to fight to get it back. |

I appreciate the help.
I am a WG-12 2604 Avionics Flightline Technician here at March ARB. I transferred from F-16's to the dark side ( AMC ) a couple of years ago. Anyway's. They finally realized they can save money by combining all the avionics flightline guys into one AFSC. We still have the old ABC shops.
What I need is the Position Description for a 2604 Avionics Flightline job. So we start combing we can ask for WG-13 pay.
If any one can send it to me. Or knows someone who can. I would appreciate it. Just send me a email at
afsocwes@aol.com
And I will send you my .Mil address
Thanks |

MakoWes, I don't think a WG-13 grade exisits for a 2604 series job. Take a look at the following PDF off OPMs website: [Link pending approval]
see page 131 and you'll find the link to 2604 series.
[Link pending approval]
I clicked on it and it shows only up to WG-12. I could be wrong, but I guess that's the top grade level for a WG paygrade.
I'm at Edwards and our flightline avionics guys are WG-13s because our job series is 2610. As you can see from that PDF, the 2610 series only goes up to WG-13.
I hope this helps. Maybe you can get some help on this from your CPF. OPMs job classifications are on :

You are correct. I typed in the wrong code. Flight line avionics is 2610. Electricians are 2604.
The problem here is I need to show that other bases have started paying Flightline Avionics guys are getting WG-13 pay.
Our backshop AIS type guys are 2610. And they get WG-13. We are trying to bump up the Flightline guys to 13.
Thanks |

I'm not sure how they justified this, but from what I'm hearing, this has been around a few years at Edwards. Also, the flightline 2610s are a combined avionics and e/e. |

go to [Link pending approval] and do a series search on 8852. that's the job series you're looking for.
Here's a link to the series search section [Link pending approval]
Hope this helps. You have to keep applying to some of them. And if you've never applied for a federal job, you might want to do a google search on how to submit for a federal jobs. There are a lot of references out there. |

A couple of years ago. Edwards had an A76 study. And the Civilian Goverment Empoyees won.
To keep their jobs. They had to get rid of all the different AFSC's. And they now they just have a WG-13 Electrician. And WG-12 Mechanic postions on the flightline. |
