| What is the actual load capability on the two stations and what can be carried? All I ever see is Sidewinder type missiles. Are there other options? |

AIM-120 go there as well.

Thanks guy@rdaf.dk
And if we are already at it, one could fit a Derby on 2 & 8 as well.
IDFAF F-16D Block 30 #083 from the "Valley Squadron" showing-off 4 Israeli-made Derby missiles. Note missing number and sqn. insigina on the fin. |

Does this count?
http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item204481.html
I know that its on station 3, but I could not find any pics of it on station 2 or 8. I've seen crewchief bags, harnesses and helmets hung there, but I dont have any pics to prove it.

| Some Israeli company developed a new type of pylon for stations 2 and 8, which allow to load bombs of up to 500 lb ... dont know if the pylons are used operationally somewhere though. |

| About 25 years ago, Israel asked GD to provide clearance to carry a Mk-82 at 2/8. I remember working the structural load clearance for that, but don't know if flutter, flying qualities, store seperation, or stores management completed their tasks. I looked all through the IAF photos in the gallery and did not see any similar loadings. |
