Well, I discovered this site about 2 months ago and I have learned SO much about the F-16 it self ad other aspects of flying.

I have always wanted to be a pilot (no joke), when I didn't know how to read yet I memorized the jets by the letters and numbers without any parental help or anything. They still make fun of me for knowing a F-16 from a F-15 before I could even read kindergartener. My familiy never held me back from wanting to fly and do not exactly support my idea of joining the AirForce, but they know how bad I really want to so they don't try to stop me. Unlike many people my family has no ties with airplanes at all so I dunno where I came from but thats the only thing I care about! My bro won't even get on a plane hehe.

I'm 16 years old and obsessed with anything that has wings. I spend about 1-2 hours a night just looking around websites learning all I can (especially this one!). Going for my PPL before 2005 hopefully (probly alot sooner).

Ok, done with my exciting life story Laughing down to the point.

I had NO clue how deep some people are into this stuff I didn't know anyone else wanted to know the same things I did or anything of the sort till I came across this website. It's so cool to see a bunch of people debating over stuff that I would never even think about talking to anyone about (they turn me off when they hear plane). But now I'm in a little deeper than I can handle hehe I went from reading books to this and trust me the books are nothing compared to this. I don't know the differences between the blocks yet and all that in depth stuff but I'm looking forward to learning it! I definatly won't be posting anything till I can actually have some educated input! Oh well I'm off to learn the differences in the blocks now... Not sure about the point of this post but I felt like thanking everyone for their enthusiasm (spelling?) of fighters themselves. It's never been able to talk to anyone about stuff like this and I'm looking forward to discussions on this stuff!

Thanks so much F-16.net and its community! You all are truly the coolest people on earth. (Well besides me Smile )

Bah ok one question is anyone around my age here?

Thanks again

-Eric Travis

Yea i'm one year younger 15 and I also want to join the airforce
most of my knowledge before I came to this site came from old re-runs of Discovery channel wings shows. It's a shame though by the time we join the air force they probably have JSF and F-22

Not to mention I found some thing that I didn't even know about military, like food, bathroom Embarassed

Nah, if I could choose I'd go for the Viper, but chances are it's going to be another. The F-16 should be operational 'till 2020 according to another post so we should get a crack at it.

The F-16 has to be the best looking jet in my opinion. JSF and F-22 are to weird looking for me!

My fear is crashing in the water and sinking. I hate water even though I surf...

That's nothing. I have a fear of leaning off the edge of a bridge and the railing breaking and falling to my death. But when I fly if the plane goes into a dive, I'm not scared somehow. Sure, there is that adrenaline rush but it doesn't really spook me.

Hi KickURanus,

Thank you for the kind words and welcome to the site! Even I am surprised how deep some people are into this Viper stuff!
