Q: How do Pred pilots know they're not in a simulator?
A: On "real" flights there's a fan on the dash board blowing in their faces.

Q: How can you tell veteran Pred Pilots from rookies?
A: Veterans lean into the turn.

Q: What's the number one reason for students to wash out of the MQ-9 program?
A: Airsickness.

Q: What do Predator pilots sing at the Creech O-Club?
A: "Off, we used to go...into the Wild Blue Yonder".

Shall I go on?

I have a friend "flying" Global Hawk. He is is hoping to get back into his KC-10. Not sure which would be more boring! Tried asking him questions about Global Hawk, his responce was, " Big No No ".

I saw a great quote here on F-16.net that, while not made in response to UAVs, greatly reflects my opinion of UAV "pilots." Unfortunately I don't have it memorized but it was along the lines of "Its not being behind the controls that makes you a pilot, its the Gs you pull." The term "stick actuator" really applies to those so-called pilots.

Wish that were the case in the AF. In the AF, it's a great opportunity for a Captain type to very likely never see his weapon system ever again...unless he goes to an airshow.

They say they are making some changes, to where guys who get non-vol'd to Creech can return after a UAV tour, but there's no guarantees right now, except for death and taxes.

With a new CSAF, we shall see...

Totally different in the Army. Like I said, we have far more UAVs in service than the AF. We can't get operators out of school fast enough. With Sky Warrior coming up, and more demand for Shadow and Raven...(more and more 11 bang bangs are going to Raven school btw), it's a brave new world.
