Wasn't exactly certain where to put this, but this forum seemed to be the most appropriate. I hope a topic like this hasn't been done yet (or at least not in a long while). I haven't seen this discussed before.
What aircraft types have you "experienced"? By "experienced", I mean any aircraft that you may have piloted, travelled in, seen at museums, seen at air shows, seen flying over your house, and so on. Your list doesn't have to be exhaustive.
Seeing it on television or the Internet doesn't count here, though.
I'll see what I can remember of my own aircraft history:
Flown in:
Boeing 717. That's pretty much it for this one. I went on vacation to Canada some years ago and took a couple of 717s there and back. The funny thing is, that I didn't even know that Boeing had made a 717 model until I got to the airport!
Been inside of:
Airbus A300, Boeing 757, Boeing 727, Douglas DC-8, Boeing 717, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker, McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender. Some of these aircraft were at an air show at Shaw AFB, one was at an airport (717), and a few were at the UPS air ramp (where I worked as a seasonal hire).
Seen flying overhead:
Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II, Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, Bell/Boeing V-22 Osprey, Boeing CH-47 Chinook, single-rotor helicoptors that I couldn't identify (Apaches?), and a bunch of aircraft flying too high for me to identify.
Seen at airshows (some in the air, some on the ground):
North American P-51 Mustang, Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon, Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, Rockwell/Boeing B-1 Lancer, Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker, McDonnell Douglas KC-10, McDonnell Douglas/Boeing F-15 Eagle, Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II, Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star, Douglas A-1 Skyraider, McDonnell Douglas/Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, and others that I don't remember the name of.
Seen at museums:
Grumman F-14 Tomcat, Lockheed U-2 Dragonlady (mock-up?), Bell X-1. Frustratingly, I know that I've seen more in museums, but I can't remember which ones for sure!
I've never piloted a plane, so that group is out for me. |

I am just going to try "Flown In".
DC-3, DC-6, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, MD-80, MD-90, B-707, B-727, B-737, B-747, B-757, B-767, Convair 880, Convair 540, de Havilland Beaver, de Havilland Dash 8, de Havilland Twin Otter, Lockheed L-1049, Lockheed L-1011, Cessna 172, 185, 210, 310, BAC 111, Fairchild Metroliner (worst plane ever invented), Saab 340, Embraer ERJ 145, Airbus 319/320. Maybe others but that is all I can remember at the moment.
Probably will never get to see but would like to: Blohm & Voss BV 141, Dewoitine D.520, Henschel Hs 129, Lavochkin La-7, and a Saab Viggen. |

Mockup? I doubt it. There are plenty of old C-models in museums.
I've flown (actually have stick/yoke time) in about 75+ aircraft. Just too tired to list them. |

Let's see: an Airbus twice--both probably A320s (short hauls) EMB-135/145s, CRJ-900, Saab 340, B737.
Seen flying, Avro 146, plenty of Boeing 7x7s, F-16s a bunch of times, TBF Avenger, AV-8B+ (landed right in front of me--wouldn't recommend being that close, my ears rang for a day after.)
Museums/Airshows: WF/E-1/Stoof With a Roof, A-3 to A-7, F-4, F-14, AH-1W, UH-1, S-3, F-8, couple of warbirds. I can't recall everything but I went to EAA twice, the Midway museum, and the Lady Lex museum.
And I saw a C-32 once when VP Cheney was in town. |

You guys got to see the SR-71 and An-124? I wish I could some day.

The reason I suspected it of being a mock-up is because I think that some of the technology on the U-2 is still classified (or so I've heard). I guess those sensitive features could have been removed before they were shipped to the museum. |

Yep. Seen both fly several times. Pretty cool stuff, especially the Habu.

They are. Anything still classified is removed at AMARG, or in the case of the Blackbird and the U-2, at Palmdale. But that doesn't make it a "mock up", per se. That just meant you sat in, likely a chopped out cockpit. I'm not aware of any complete U-2s on display that feature an open cockpit.
March ARB, however, has an open cockpit SR-71 on display. IIRC, they only open the canopies at certain times, though. Parrothead and Habu could elaborate. They've been there. I never have. |

Yep, seen both the SR-71 and the AN-124 fly at airshows
I really can't count the number of different types of planes I've seen. Really, with all those airshows and museums, it's too many. I just wish I could've seen an A-12 Oxcart, B-58 Hustler and a B-36 Peacemaker fly.
Aircraft I've flown include a Piper Arrow, Cessna 172 (2), and Cessna 185 with HIGHWAY PATROL on the wings
Aircraft I've been in (not flying) ? OV-10 Bronco, O-2, MiG-29 Fulcrum, MiG-23 Flogger, Mi-24 Hind, HH60 Pavehawk, C-5 Galaxy (passenger compartment), RC-135 Cobra Ball (sensor operators' area), C-17 (cargo area), AN-124 (cargo area), KC-130 (cargo area), KC-10 (boom operator seat), KC-135 (boom operator position), B-17 (everywhere but the cockpit and ball turret), AC-47 (everywhere but the cockpit), Dornier DO-24ATT, HU-16 Albatross, Spruce Goose, and I'm running out of brain power.
Oh yeah - the SR-71 down at March
March opened the cockpit for the airshow day and also does so on other "open cockpit" days. I know the air museum on Miramar and Castle AFB do this on occasion, too
Now I really have to get back down to March for Open Cockpit day to get into the Tomcat, Thud, Phantom, SLUF, and a few others |

What the crap!....ooooh yeah...I had a reply all ready to go, when my browser crashed!
Jeff beat me to it. Yeah March has the open cockpit days, so does Flying Leatherneck at Miramar, as well as a few others. I dug being in the SR-71 cockpit, but the one I was impressed with was the F-111 cockpit. Very spacious, and rather comfortable!
This was at Blackbird Airpark though:
