| Got lucky and stumbled upon this at a Film set sale. But could definitely use help in identifying just exactly what I've got! Any help would be appreciated. |

Sorry; I can't resist...
I'm not certain in these matters as my given speciality is motors, but it looks like a helmet, one often worn by modern fighter pilots...
You may want to confirm that with a "Survival & Flight Equipment Guy"... |

It's definitely not a chopper helmet guys. The chopper guys wear a different type helmet, and are colored OD Green. This one's a -55P. My -55P also has a retractable boom mike, however, mine also has receivers for the oxygen mask bayonets. This one does not.
I can't think of any movie in recent memory where the characters wore something like this, but then again, I don't watch too many flying movies, because they're usually about 2 hours of horse flop.

Well the front end guys on a helo may not wear the 55, but the guys in back like the loadmaster or crew chief just might, although I don't see the bayonet mounts for the O2 mask. Anyone know what do the SOF guys at Hulbert wear on the PAVE LOWs?
Only sig I could make out was what looks like "Trevor Wheatley", but didn't get any actor hits off Google or IMDB.

Actually....yeah...the Mav could fire on the ground, at in my sims anyway. There's a seldom used switch (that shall remain nameless unless ya figure it out) that ya had to enable besides Master Arm to do it. |

No Loadies on helos (THANK GOD!), and as of a couple of months ago, there are no more PAVE LOWs in the USAF. I do, however, believe that those guys wore 55Ps or 84Ps.
The Blackhawk guys have a completely different setup...54Ps, which can then be mod'ed with some of their mission specific equipment.

I'm guessing this has something to do with the WOW? |
