Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Auction

I just read about this on AeroNews.net and I really wish I had enough money to consider bidding on some of the items up for grabs Smile

This auction raises money for college scholarships and I have to say that some of the items up for auction are pretty darn cool! I could sure go for having a guided tour of Cape Canaveral given by Scott Carpenter and I wouldn't mind having a piece of the Kapton foil that flew as a part of the Apollo 11 command module either.

I know that quite a few aviation buffs are also space fanatics so I figured this might interest some people around here.

I might be able to afford to bid on a used piddle-pack. But then again, why would I want it?

I bet Alan Sheppards first flight suit is going at a reduced rate.

You'd be surprised at just what will sell from spaceflight. Take that screw from the Shuttle. Anything that's flown is golden and while it may have had to have been through the wash, I'd suspect the novelty of Alan's events would increase the value Smile
