We just called it "the Brit Bar". Spent more time at the Prime Beef bar in their hot tub and the Special Forces bar.

All I remember about the Brit bar is having the lights go out periodically and getting punched and kicked. Also an old guy playing the bagpipes.

Best Regards,

We also used to go in there and watch Billy Connolly videos with them since they had PAL video equipment. Hilarious!

Was the broken spoke a quonset hut at a street corner with a big ditch running alongside it? If so, I (sorta) remember going there a few times. We were there with the rainbow (Sioux Falls, Sioux City, and Richmond) F-16s and the Louisiana ANG was there with the F-15s. I seem to hazily remember drinking with those guys....

I remember the British bar in tent city but don't remember the name. I just remember a sign saying something like "rats! Bollixed again!" on the wall. Killed a few brain cells there, too. Also, wasn't there an F-111 bar in tent city?

Yeah, it was called the "Raven" bar wasn't it? I know the F-111 folks from Lakenheath had one of the original tent city bars, but that one didn't last long from what I remember.

Deej--You're right! I remember the Raven bar now. I managed to get toasted at just about every bar I knew about at the Lik back in '96. What else was there to do? I also remember drinking Tuborg and Efes, but the Efes was a crapshoot as to alcohol content. Some days it'd be real potent, other days it'd be just yellow water. Or was it urine? Nah, then it'd be called Budweiser.

I was just looking at some old pictures from Incirlik. Does anybody remember the Wagon Wheel aka the Broken Spoke? I remember the SPs would stay pissed off at us trying to get us to leave. I was wondering if anybody could remember any moments that stood out while at the Spoke. I still have a horseshoe that I took in 90 hanging up in my office

I realize this is an OLD thread, but I'm just finding it and it brings back A LOT of old memories!

I was the DeeJay at the Wagon Wheel from '93 to '95 so I have TONS of pictures/videos/memories from the Wheel. I go back through all of my old photo albums occassionally and even throw in a VHS tape every once in a while and smile.

Anyone out there still have a Wagon Wheel coin?

I just happened to stumble upon this, and when I read your post, I had to check with you. I was at the Lik from 93 to 95 and lived in the wagon wheel during my off duty time. Do the names Cuz, Huck, or Daisy ring any bells? How about Hope?

How about swing dancing or teaching someone how to 'flip' ? If any of this sounds familiar to you, send me a PM Laughing

Sorry to jump in late....

I believe the British bar was called the "Horny Vine". Before that, I the AF Spec ops guys owned the place and it was called the "Hover Inn". You could still see the logo painted on the roof. I spent three deployments at Incirlik for ONW. 1997-1998, 1999-2000, 2002-2003

I remember some dude built a huge bonfire on New Year's eve by the softball field near tent city.

The Broken Spoke brings back memories...I made it there a few times if I wasn't too drunk before leaving tent city. I actually got drunk more in Turkey than Kunsan....

I know i closed the place down for two weeks due to too much wiskey and beer. covered the back bar glasses and the whole bar I was told never to return. never made it back to the old place after that. Good thing it was end of tdy.
Did make it back to the Lic. later on other TDY's just not the same place/fun crowd as it once was

Back about 88 or 89 we (a bunch of 313th crew chiefs) were playing pool with an F-15 pilot until he passed out on the table. His Big a$$ Samoan crew chief picked him up and carried him out like a sack of potatoes. Cussing us the whole way.
