Ok, I have goggled my eyes big and blue, but without luck. So I try here;

Can someone please help me out with the length and dimension of the LAU-68 rocket launcher?

The reason is that I am building models, and have several versions of this pod in the stash, however non are the same in size Bang Head .
So, I need the actual dimensions in order to calculate wich is the correct size - if any Shrug ?

In case you wonder, the scale is 1/48

Thanks in advance Crazy Pilot

BTW: Two very nice LAU-68s with their visible seven rocket tips are provided by Tamiya with their 1/48 Douglas A-1J Skyraider U.S. Air Force kit (61073, released in 2000), including the forward frangible fairing as an option. This kit is still part of my collection.

Either LAU-68s or LAU-131s are also provided by Italeri with their latest 1/48 A-10/OA-10 Thunderbolt II kits. But sorry, I have none of these kits on my desk.

Please note: It looks to me like USAF F-16C units currently are using the LAU-131 version.

Thanks guys

Given the lengths provided, I make this out to become aprox length of 3,24cm and 0,52cm diameter for 1/48 scale.
The Italieri A-10 is too long by aprox 1,2cm, while Tamiya's - although better detailed - appear too small, both in length and diameter.

I have a couple in my stash, one I believe is from Italieri's UH-1N kit that matches the measurements well. (Without front- and rear covers mind you)
The Italieri, although too long, can be shortened to fit. The Tamiya's might be a lost cause, but I`d love some more opinions on this from you guys.

This is excellent development, proves there is still hope yet Thumb

I'm not sure what all is at the site on LAU-68 but the famous "left wing" site: http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/man/usw ... pment.html

has loads of info on many military systems. Do a site search and you're bound to find some useful info.

This doc has some info.
