Based on these response, probably I have to wait for Tamiya's F-16C Blk 25/32 and swap parts (air intake and exhaust) with a Block 50 to construct both 87-0310 (Block 30) and 88-0524 (Block 42). Am I correct? Question

As I check my Block 50, I sensed that and based on facts in this site, after releasing the Block 25/32, Tamiya might release the Block 40 or 42 by just adding LANTIRN Pods, air-to-ground ordnance and WAR HUD to the Block 50. Smile

Yes, you can take the GE exhaust and MCID intake from the Tamiya F-16CJ kit and add them to the Block 25/32 kit to make an accurate Block 30.

Or, you can wait for an upcoming Block 30 conversion that will have an accurate detailed GE Exhaust with full detailed duct and a seamless MCID fore intake section.

Man, what a time it is to be a Viper modeler! The bevy of products that have come out in the past few years eclipses everything that has come before, definitely. Some good, some bad, and some, so spectacular, its has set the new bar. There's just so many choices for AM. And for kits, there is one clear winner, at least in 1/32 and 1/48. The jury is still out for a couple of the new offerings, so we'll see. But the end is far from near. We'll see a lot of new products, and the quality will continue to increase. And in some cases, I'm sure it won't be enough. But hey, I'm down for it all! Wouldn't want our banter to get boring would we? Razz

NSI Block 30, sure you guys will.

The GE exhaust will also be marketed seperately. There's also going to be an AN IAF Block 30 conversion for the Tamiya 48th F-16CJ. This will also include a seamless NSI intake & detailed GE exhaust.

BTW.... H did you see the built up 48th Kinetic GE exhaust on ARC? A friend shot me the link yesterday. One word to sum that up - CRUDE!

Looks like a "corrected" GE exhaust will be in order for this kit. I have a feeling Kinetic will create a lot of business potential for us.

I'ved just completed my Academy and Tamiya Block 50 Viper. The Tamiya stands taller than the Academy. Guiness

Next is a Block 30 and a Block 52. No specific unit chosen yet, still researching. Confused

Yeah, pretty much there's no comparison between the kits. Besides the decals and some extra ordinance, the Academy kit has nothing on Tamiya!

I take you're doing the Block 30 in 32nd scale?

If so, then the choice is simple enough by just using both the Tamiya F-16C and CJ kits.

Start with the F-16C T-Bird kit, get the MCID intake and GE exhaust sprues from the CJ kit. That will leave the Pratt exhaust and NSI intake to use on the F-16CJ kit. That intake and exhaust configuration used on the F-16CJ kit, will yield a Block52/42.

Or, you wait for the resin conversion parts.

I'm doing all my Vipers in 1/48th scale, I have no funds and momentum to tackle the 1/32nd domain. I plan to get the Academy F-16 CG/CJ to build the 88-0528 but got demoralized by the reviews and aborted it. Neutral

Anyway I still have two 1/48 Vipers and considering to get another 25/32 that I may have blocks 30, 32, 50 and 52 to my compilation of what-if Vipers with tail arts (inspired by Jake's ANG Commanders' Conference pics. http://www.jakemelampy.net/2005conference.html ). I'll just post my finished Block 50 with a lovely tail art. Wink
