Between modellers is allways some discussions about reality of a kit [Link pending approval] me ask question (sorry if it was here already) if it can happend IRL that Viper is on stand on some AFB, weapons mounted (on my F-16CJ it is four AMRAAM´s, two HARM´s and ALQ 131 pod) and radome opened (with radar avionics bay behind radome)...?? Why I build this theoretically unreal configuration is obvious, but I would like to hear from a people here who work on F-16 if it is a nonsense (if some procedure/instruction directly denies any work (on avionics) with a/c loaded) or more or less [Link pending approval]
I am working on civil large airplanes and I know that a lot of procedures must be followed when working on "hot stuff", but this situation is not so sci-fi for me as it can be seen to other [Link pending approval]
Thanks a lot for any [Link pending approval] |

| Yes it is possible to work on an aircraft with loaded live munitions. I've done pretty in depth avionics work on CJ's while they were loaded with lives. Although a more more realistic loadout for your model would be AIM-120's on sta. 1/2/9, AIM-9 on sta. 8 with HARMS on sta. 3 and 7. This was a common loadout we flew for OSW. |

Woow, thanks a lot, you are absolutely right - I have a pic of 91-0352 which I am working on with this configuration, BUT I didn´t noticed Sidewinder on sta 8! It´s a rule not to depend on radar misiles or some established practise? |

| Either 2 or 8 will work, both are legal. |

| The key to working on a jet loaded with munitions is to ensure they are dearmed, meaning they are still hanging but disconnected. During Allied Force we did fly our CJ's with 4 120's. |

a norm load will have AIM-120's on 1/8/9, with a AIM-9 on 2, HARMS on 3/7 and wing tanks on 4/6. |

| In CONUS we usually download, but other places I have dearmed and isolated the connectors so others could do minor work. |

That would make sense due to the mission requirements. Same as when we were in the sand box. |
