| Probably more of a speculation (for now) until more data and technical specs are known, but how about the Viper vs. Iran's new fighter, the Saegheh? |

| Its nothing more then an upgraded F-5...I think its more geared for propoganda, not a match for real fighter aircraft like the F-16. |

I watched the video of the Saegheh on youtube, was un-impressed.
I believe the Saegheh is designed as a ground attack aircraft -- a under-armored version of the Su-25, if you will. It would be no match for the viper in A-A due to its shortcomings in the BVR area. |

They featured the Saegheh in their big military parade today (September 22). It's not the F-16 they're comparing it to, but the F/A-18. It reminds me of those F-5's Maverick tangled with in "Top Gun." I'm sure most western fighter pilots would give a lot to run into one in an air-to-air fight. |

Really small nose probably means really small radar = Viper - "Fox 3!" before the Saegheh even has a lock
In close and turning I'd imagine it's like an F-5 which is very familiar to anyone whose gone through TOPGUN or Weapons School . |

| Speculation on my part as I don't know much of anything about the Saegheh. I wouldn't discount it yet, but I wouldn't want to be in it against any 4th Gen aircraft much less 5th Gen. |

You mean the Saegheh's flight characteristics will be hardly any different to that of an F-5E Tiger II?
Come on, every TOPGUN / USAF-FWS graduate faced it in their DACT training sessions. |
