Hey y'all,
Working Phase and I am in need of a oil cart, using it on F-16's. I know I got to go through "proper" channels first, but wanted to see if anyone knew if theres a cart laying around, not needed or waiting to be turned in. Just trying to to get a POC if someone knows of one.
Thanks. |

| The first question is do you have one listed on your TA? If so you can get one no problem. If not, you need to have it added and when you find one get it transfered to your account. |

Agreed; If you "get" a cart and it's not "authorized" (even if you do NEED one) someone will take it away when they do an inventory of your equipment/account.
Those sort of things live and die by the TA and CACRL... Like it or not |

You have to be carefull using an unauthorized piece of equiptment on a serviceable engine. Who nows where its been or what garbage is floating around in it. Lets put it this way, if there is an accident, God forbid, the accident invesigation board will inpound the oil cart. Contaminated oil carts have caused their share of accidents
Order it through the proper channels and sleep soundly at night |

Why not just sign one out from AGE on a long-term basis? They probably won't object if you provide the weekly oil samples and pick it up and return it to them. That way the periodic inspections are taken care of, and you are completely legal. 30-day hand receipts would probably work just fine.
Best Regards, |

| No we dont have them on our TA, go figure. Sometimes the folks at NGB dont understand how things really work. But yeah, probably gonna have to do a request. But those always take a while. But still looking for someone out there who knew of one that aint being used. Then I might be able to get equipment managers in touch with each other and try to help speed things up. Thanks y'all. |

Cannon F-16's are going away maybe your managers can work with them and get an FET, however a SOG unit is replacing them and they may absorb alot of the AGE |

O.K. Before any aquisition of any oil carts can be made, you must get the finance manager to alot the necessary funds. Items aren't just "transfered" willy nilly, you know! Someone's got to pay for it all!
Then everyone from the equipment manager to the squadron commander (and sometimes God Himself) must sign off on the allocation of funds. This part can get tricky, because if any one with any sway finds out there are funds available, they will be after it!
After the item has been secured (good luck! ), your equipment manager must do a song and dance with base supply to get it transfered to your account. In order to do this, the item's paper work must ALL be in order. There will be paper work no one new existed that MUST be found, updated, signed off by the ORIGINAL parties, inspected, and I forget what else.
Finally, your oil cart must go through an initial inspection and be added to your CA/CRL.
If this sounds rediculous, bear in mind that the other squadron must do much of the same thing just to get rid of the oil cart! |
