Hi [Link pending approval]

How much weight can a sta 3 or 7 Wing Weapon Pylon hold? I know that a MAU-12 can hold up to 5000 pound but is it the same when its on a WWP and hangs on sta 3 or 7?

I tried lot of sources but still can't get the answer. Can anyone tell me the answer and better where can I find the answer?

Thanks a lot.

The pylon is not the limiting factor, the wing hard point is. Sta 3/7 is limited to a nominal 2500 lb., I believe.

Actually its based on 2 things 1) the load limit on the hard point and 2) the clearance you get from SeeK Eagle folks for the 1-2. I don't recall what the upper load limit is tho on stations 3 & 7.

Cheers,

There is no simple load limit for any hardpoint. When I said a nominal 2500 lb for sta 3/7, that means stores plus pylon weight of 2500 lb is the approximate limit, but the true hardpoint load limit is found by analysis and flight test of the store in question. To define the load transferred from the pylon to the wing hardpoint. six components of load must be known, vertical, side, and drag load, and pitch, roll, and yaw moments. The most critical are the moments. General Dynamics (and Lockheed Martin) provided limit load envelopes of Pitch vs. Roll, Yaw vs. Roll, and Pitch vs. Yaw. All types of design maneuvers are analyzed and flight tested to verify the maximum loads from each store. If these maximum loads are within the boundaries of the limit envelopes, the store is cleared for operational flight.
