Hi there. Very Happy

Like most of you, I am a scale modeler and as I'm planning to build soon one or two F-16, I will need your assistance.

Usually, I'm building only ww2 propellers Very Happy but some days ago, I've seen these two pictures Surprised on [Link pending approval] :

F-16B

F-16A

Since this time, it's like an obsession. Bang Head I will wish, I need, I want to build these [Link pending approval] but I've absolutely no knowledge on US Navy colors, nor paint schemes. Confused

Could somebody say me the FS colors for the tan and the grey planes ?

Where can I find their paint schemes ?

I've also seen the Twobobs decal sheet 48069 F-16A/B NSAWC Vipers [url=[Link pending approval]]here[/url].

But these decals looks differents. Sad

Obviously Twobobs marks and codes are black but on these two pictures, marks and codes looks like to be tan and grey (some sort of low viz markings ?)

Also, the Twobobs grey bird camouflage is in two colors and I can see three greys on the photo.

As the dates of these two pictures are January and February 2007, I guess this is maybe a new paint [Link pending approval]

Could someone help ?

Thank you by advance. Thanks

Casper_fr.

Sorry Casper, but I had to remove your links to the Airliners.net pics, since they don't allow hotlinking.
Which scheme are you talking about? The one with the white nose? You're right, the pattern is different, and there are no decals for it yet. So you'd be on your own. But the colors are the same as the other blue/blue scheme.

Ooops sorry [Link pending approval] Embarassed

My fault. Confused I did not know that airliners does not allow hotlinking.

I'm talking about the F-16B 92-0459 (cn DH-13) [ photo by Tim Lachenmaier at Fallon, January 3, 2007 ].
Photo ID: 1210780

Then, F-16A 900945 54 (cn DG-4) [ photo by Glenn Beasley, NAS Fallon, February 12, 2007 ]
Photo ID: 1218404

Both can be found directly through [url=[Link pending approval]]airliners advanced search engine[/url], typing photos ID.

I think I will start to build the F-16B. Very Happy

If I understand well, for this specific F-16B two seater in 3 tone tan, I can use FS colors recommended by Two Bobs :
Tan FS30279,
Tan FS30219,
Tan FS30140.
Right ?

But what about the markings ?
On these two others pics from airliners too, ID 1180909and ID 1163648, I can clearly see there is real variations between the two tan F-16B paint scheme and [Link pending approval]
Tails code, US insigna and word Navy looks to be "dark brown" for one, and "light brown" for the other.
Which color can I use to draw them ?
I suspect one of the Tan color used for the camo scheme but I'm interested by advice from F-16 specialists. Very Happy

Then, I've more or less the same trouble with the 3 tone grey F-16A. Doh

Two Bobs give a two tone grey scheme (colors are FS36270 and FS36118).

Which is the third grey FS I need to reproduce the F-16A 900945 we can see on airliners ?

And what about markings color ? Again I suspect one of the camo grey. Any suggestion ?

Thank you

Ok the colors for the F-16B are the same three-tone browns that you've put up. Now whether they're in the same pattern as the TB sheet, I don't know. Probably not, as it seems to be a new scheme, but the colors are the same. The F-16A, IS a new three-tone grey, and no decals are available for it. The grey scheme on the TB sheet is that of the original jet that was embargoed for Pakistan, and thus wears that original scheme. The third grey appears to be gunship FS36118. But it could also be EuroI grey, FS36081.

Either way, you're on your own for markings, as there are none yet.
