The 148th FW deploys to Afghanistan

The 148th Fighter Wing deployed approximately 300 members to Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan over the period of August 5th-11th in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
There's something to be said for goals - whether big or small, they motivate a person to keep going, to take one more step when quitting would be so much easier. Sometimes, it's hard to tell if all this hard work will lead to something worth the effort. For Col. Kurt "Huevos" Gallegos, 301st Operations Group Commander, it's led to reaching milestones that only come with hard work and time.

In a tradition nearly as old as military aviation itself, Brigadier General James N. "Bull" Post III, 354th Fighter Wing commander, completed his final flight at Eielson Air Force Base on July 11, symbolizing the end of his command.
