480th FS tackles both Red & Green Flags

Pilots, maintainers, support people and F-16 Fighting Falcons from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, are participating in both Red Flag 13-2 and Green Flag 13-3 until Feb. 1. This is the first time the 480th Fighter Squadron has participated in both flag exercises at the same time.
Italian search teams have recovered debris believed to be from a U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon that went missing Monday night while flying over the Adriatic Sea, according to the 31st Fighter Wing.
Italian newswires are reporting a USAFE F-16 has crashed into the Adriatic. The status of the pilot is currently unknown.
Underwater survey company Phoenix International, based in the USA, has successfully completed an underwater search and recovery of a USAF F-16 aircraft from over 16,400 feet of sea water (fsw) off the coast of Japan in an operation which cost $1.4M.

An Israeli Air Force F-16D block 30 'Barak' believed to be from 109 Sqn slid off the runway at Ramat David airbase after a technical fault was detected during landing on January 2, 2013. Both pilot and navigator ejected safely.

Fresno based 194 FS F-16C crashes

A California Air National Guard F-16C block 32 from the 194th Fighter Squadron crashed during a routine training mission on Thursday around 15:30hrs local time about 100 miles east of Fresno. The pilot safely ejected.

132 FW to potentially lose 21 F-16s

The AirForceTimes reports that the 2013 Defence Authorisation Bill proposes airforce cuts which includes the retirement of 21 F-16s, all from the 132nd Fighter Wing based at Des Moine, Iowa.
Developmental testing for an F-16 operational flight program will be accomplished at the 40th Flight Test Squadron and 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron here for the first time.

US to deliver 20 Block 52 F-16s to Egypt

Despite instability due to the new Islamic government in Egypt, the US is sending more than 20 F-16 fighter jets to Egypt as part of a $1 billion foreign aid package.
