Thunderbirds announce their 2011 schedule

The US Air Force Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, has announced their show schedule for the 2011 season.

Safety chains used at Aviano AB to stop F-16

An F-16C block 40 (#88-0446) experienced problems after landing from a training flight yesterday, Wednesday afternoon at Aviano Air Base, Italy. This prompted the base to use safety chains to bring it to a stop about 30 yards from the base perimeter.
Fokker Aircraft Services (FAS) is celebrating the 1111th F-16 to undergo maintenance at its facility. The jet belongs to the Royal Norwegian Air Force and arrived at Fokker Aircraft Service's hangars this November where it will undergo a 300 FH Phase Inspection.
Goodrich Corporation has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide its advanced DB-110 airborne reconnaissance system for the Egyptian Air Force's new Block 52 F-16 fighter aircraft.

USAF to station F-16s in Poland as of 2013

The U.S. Air Force will station F-16 jet fighters and C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in Poland as of 2013, Polish Defense Minister Bogdan Klich announced on Nov. 18th.
An F-16 based at Aviano dropped two external fuel tanks and an inert missile on an empty field Tuesday night after the pilot declared an in-flight emergency shortly after take-off, according to a 31st Fighter Wing press release.
Pratt & Whitney, was awarded a contract for $46 million to provide F100-PW-229 Enhanced Engine Package (EEP) engines to power the Egyptian Air Force's new fleet of 20 F-16 aircraft.

F-16I crashes in Negev desert

An Israeli F-16I crashed Wednesday night in southern Israel during a routine training flight, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement. Both crew were killed in the incident.

309th FS & AMU return from exercise

ITT wins ANG contract for F-16 mission support

The U.S. Air National Guard has awarded ITT Corp. a $4.3 million contract to integrate and test an all-weather targeting pod in its F-16 fighter aircraft.
Raytheon Company has won a contract to upgrade the Centre Display Unit (CDU) of U.S. Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard F-16 aircraft.
Cassidian, the recently renamed defence and security pillar of EADS, will protect the F-16 fighter aircraft of the Royal Norwegian Airforce (RNoAF) against missile attacks.

Tucson welcomes back Dutch F-16 training

The 162nd Fighter Wing of the Arizona Air National Guard welcomed Dutch pilots and aircraft as they arrived at Tucson International Airport October 29, 2010.
More than 170 Wolf Pack Airmen returned to Kunsan Air Base, October 23 after participating in the fourth annual Max Thunder exercise at Kwangju Air Base, ROK, October 15-22.

UAE wrap up F-16 training in Arizona
