UAE accelerates construction of F-16 airbase

Jun 09, 2003 - The United Arab Emirates has accelerated construction of an air base to house its new fleet of F-16s.

Gulf defense sources said the base is expected to cost more than $1 billion. The facility is meant to house about half of the 80 F-16 Block 60 aircraft the UAE will receive over the next four years. [Read more...]

USAF and UAE purchase Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser kits

Jun 01, 2003 - The US Air Force ordered 3,854 Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD) tail kits from Lockheed Martin, in a deal worth $63.79 million.

Of these kits, 304 are to be delivered to the the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the first foreign customer for the system. The WCMD kits will be used on the United Arab Emirates' 80 F-16 Block 60 aircraft. [Read more...]

Lockheed wins $279.9 mln deal for Chile F-16s

May 21, 2003 - The U.S. Air Force on Tuesday said it awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. a $279.9 million contract to pay for 10 F-16 fighter jets ordered by Chile under a deal first signed in March 2002. The money covers the first 14 months of work on the warplanes at Lockheed's plant in Fort Worth. It is the first sale of advanced U.S. warplanes to South America since the 1970s. [Read more...]

BVR Systems wins $5m deal to supply F-16 training center

May 21, 2003 - BVR Systems of Rosh Ha'ayin today announced that it won a contract worth $5 million to supply an F-16 training center to an unnamed foreign air force. BVR, which makes defense training and simulation systems, said the training center would comprise two F-16 training devices, a mission simulator and a tactical systems trainer. [Read more...]

May 12, 2003 - TAT Technologies limited, which is engaged in the manufacturing, repairs and overhauls of heat transfer equipment and other various accessories, mainly used in aircraft, reported today that its wholly owned subsidiary Limco-Airepair Inc. of Tulsa Oklahoma has obtained a U.S. Air Force 5-year contract for the repair and overhaul of F16 Heat Exchangers.
