Lt. Col. James Hecker, commander, 27th Fighter Squadron stationed at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, and Lt. Col. Evan Dertein fly in formation behind a KC-10 "Extender" in route to Hill Air Force Base, Utah October 15, 2005. This operation, dubbed "Combat Hammer" gives the Air Force's first operational F/A-22 squadron a chance to deploy the aircraft to a new location and practice various operations.
