More than 20 jets from the 555th and 510th Fighter Squadrons flew to Bulgaria to take part in Thracian Star 2012, a joint Bulgarian-U.S. air combat training exercise designed to build partnerships, increasing interoperability, and train the participating forces in the areas of tactical interception and combat air defense. Participating forces include U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft with the 31st Fighter Wing, Bulgarian Air Force MiG-21, MiG-29 and SU-25 aircraft, as well as units of the anti-aircraft troops.
