This was the last successful air demonstration at Ramstein. That's my jet and my asst Sgt Joe Cain and I flipped to see who would work the airshow. I won, so Joe was sitting with the Italians on that infamous day. I was stuck on the Autobahn in line trying to get on to Ranstein. Never made the show. Which is a good thing because I would probably have been standing right where the aircraft struck the crowd.
