The F-16s shown in the above photo belonged to the 313th TFS. I was a member from 1979 to 1983.

I remember you buddy

Can you believe how much time has past since we were there part of this amazing squadron and folks like us, just making stuff happen within USAFE. Looking back at all the exercises (local and higher headquarters)...man, we all worked our tails off but wasn't it great (looking back). The weather, seemed to always be rainy or snow, cold as hell but I (like so many others) loved it, it was what the USAF and F-16's were all about. Here's you you Tyler and the rest of the "Zoo Crowd" whereevr they may be today - Happy Thanksgiving buddy - Salute from Tom Wharton - thanks for the cool photos too

Blue Zoo

Hey Wharton, There are new Blue Zoo photos just posted. I was with you at Hahn during that famous era in the F-16's history in Germany. T Tyler

I was a crew chief from 84-88 in the Zoo. That was the best time in my career. Great times that I'll never forget.

I was part of the Blue Zoo as well (82-83) as one of their "B-shoppers" or Flight Control Technicians. There was as plaque painted on the AMU(tab-vee) wall and goes something like this: 10th Pride of the 50th Defender of the 313th Envy of the 496th

I was in the 10th AMU from 1982 to 1983, we were called the Blue Zoo. I later took over as the Senior Controller for Maintenance Operations (1983 to 1985). Man, the Zoo was the place to be, we worked hard, we played hard. Good times from so long ago but where is the Blue Tails, I remember having the upper portion of the Tail painted Blue. Nice old photo though..Tsgt.Tom Wharton back in those days!
