With the passing of the wings guidon, General Franklin takes responsibility for more than 8,000 Airmen deployed here as well as base-operating support-integration for JBB. The 332nd AEW is the most forward-deployed combat wing in Iraq. Its heritage is tied to the famous 332nd Fighter Group led by the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II.
