An F-22 Raptor takes off at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam while another waits for clearance March 5. The Raptors are deployed from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska to the 90th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron at Andersen. The base received 14 of the $140 million dollar aircraft, and more than 250 Airmen for a three month deployment as the Pacifics Theater Security Package. The stealth-fighters, along with associated maintenance and support personnel will participate in various exercises that provide routine training in an environment different from their home station.
